Q fever endocarditis is the most common presentation of chronic infection of but it rarely occurs in the pediatric age group. We report the first case of Q fever endocarditis in an Omani child. The affected 11-year-old female lives in the Al Batinah governorate in the north of Oman and was known to have congenital heart disease. She presented with features of chronic blood culture-negative endocarditis. The infection was confirmed with the indirect immunofluorescence assay. The patient responded well to a combination of doxycycline and hydroxychloroquine therapy.
Q热心内膜炎是布氏杆菌慢性感染最常见的表现形式，但在儿童年龄组中很少发生。我们报告了阿曼一名儿童首例Q热心内膜炎病例。这位11岁的患病女性居住在阿曼北部的巴提奈省，已知患有先天性心脏病。她表现出慢性血培养阴性心内膜炎的特征。通过间接免疫荧光试验确诊了感染。患者对强力霉素和羟氯喹联合治疗反应良好。
