Coordination of various physical and mental aspects of individuals, including the ability to control difficult conditions and situations has an effect in the prevention and development of various diseases, such as diabetes, and the improvement of the quality of life. Therefore, the purpose of this study was is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the quality of life of elderly diabetic patients.
This study was conducted in 2018. The statistical population in this cross-sectional study consisted of elderly people referred to the health centers of Kermanshah province in western Iran, who were divided via available sampling into two groups with diabetes and without diabetes. Data gathering tools were a couple of LIPAD Quality of Life and Shrink Emotional Intelligence standard questionnaires. The Data was analysed using software SPSS, 23 th version. Tests were used (T-test, Chi-square, Anova and regression).
Most of them were male (52.72%) and the mean age of the patients was 65.01(±6.08) years old and married. The quality of life score in diabetics and non-diabetics was respectively 51.9 and 50.37 with a standard deviation of 17.73 and 20.54. The mean total score of emotional intelligence in the elderly with diabetes was 99.42 with a standard deviation of 10.37 and non-diabetic subjects were 97.18 with a standard deviation of 18.4.
There was no significant difference between the mean scores of quality of life (0.652) and emotional intelligence (0.421) in diabetic and non-diabetic individuals. But, the emotional intelligence has an effect on the quality of life of the elderly people.
协调个人的各种身心方面，包括控制困难条件和情况的能力，对预防和发展各种疾病（如糖尿病）以及提高生活质量有影响。因此，本研究的目的是确定情绪智力对老年糖尿病患者生活质量的影响。
本研究于 2018 年进行。这项横断面研究的统计人群包括伊朗西部克尔曼沙阿省的老年人，他们通过可用抽样法分为有糖尿病和无糖尿病两组。数据收集工具是一些 LIPAD 生活质量和 Shrink 情绪智力标准问卷。使用软件 SPSS 23 版分析数据。测试包括（T 检验、卡方检验、方差分析和回归）。
他们中的大多数是男性（52.72%），患者的平均年龄为 65.01（±6.08）岁，已婚。糖尿病患者和非糖尿病患者的生活质量评分分别为 51.9 和 50.37，标准差分别为 17.73 和 20.54。患有糖尿病的老年人的情绪智力总评分平均为 99.42，标准差为 10.37，非糖尿病患者的情绪智力总评分平均为 97.18，标准差为 18.4。
糖尿病患者和非糖尿病患者的生活质量（0.652）和情绪智力（0.421）的平均得分没有显著差异。但是，情绪智力对老年人的生活质量有影响。
