Recurrent abdominal pain in childhood: an approach to common disorders.

Recurrent abdominal pain is a challenging clinical problem for which the rewards are the return of the ill or disabled child to an active life. I hope that the approach outlined here will hasten recovery, reduce iatrogenesis, and potentially lessen lifelong pain in these children.
