[Comparative characteristics of the pancreatic exocrine activity in rats of various ages].

Activity of alpha-amylase, lipase and protease in the pancreatic gland homogenate was shown to be considerably depressed in 24-month old animals as compared with the 12-month old ones. The same was true for the pancreatic gland secretory response (juice volume, alpha-amylase, lipase and protease excretion) to administration of 0.1 N hydrochloric acid.
