The complete mitochondrial DNA sequence of the South America fur seal () was obtained by a shotgun sequencing approach. The mitogenome is 16,372 bp in length and includes the genes coding for the two rRNA species (12S and 16S), 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and a control region. The base composition is 33.0% for A, 26.7% for C, 26.1 for T and 14.2% for G, with an overall GC content of 40.9%. The description of this mitogenome will be useful for further phylogeny and genetic studies on Pinnipeds.
通过鸟枪法测序方法获得了南美海狗()的完整线粒体DNA序列。该线粒体基因组长度为16372 bp,包括编码两种rRNA(12S和16S)、13个蛋白质编码基因、22个转运RNA基因和一个控制区的基因。碱基组成为:A占33.0%,C占26.7%,T占26.1%,G占14.2%,总体GC含量为40.9%。该线粒体基因组的描述将有助于对鳍足类动物进行进一步的系统发育和遗传学研究。
