In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of band-rumped Storm-petrel, was determined through sequencing of PCR fragments. The complete mitochondrial genome of was 17,065 bp in length and encoded 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The overall nucleotide composition is: 30.4% A, 24.5% T, 30.9% C, and 14.2% G, with a total G + C content of 45.1%. By phylogenetic analysis using Bayes method, showed the closest relationship with the white-faced storm petrel ().
在本研究中，通过对PCR片段进行测序，确定了斑腰叉尾海燕的完整线粒体基因组。其完整线粒体基因组长度为17,065 bp，编码13个蛋白质编码基因、22个转运RNA（tRNA）基因和两个核糖体RNA基因。总体核苷酸组成为：A占30.4%，T占24.5%，C占30.9%，G占14.2%，G + C总含量为45.1%。通过贝叶斯方法进行系统发育分析，结果显示其与白脸海燕（）关系最为密切。
