Abstract

are obligate intracellular pathogens that rely on secreted effector proteins to establish their intracellular niche. In this issue of the , Yanatori describe a screen for effectors, performed in , which identified several new proteins that are translocated during infection (Yanatori, Miura et al. 2021).
