Abstract

PURPOSE

This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the efficacy of Li Maneuver as a repositioning maneuver for geotropic HC-BPPV, compared with Gufon Maneuver.

METHODS

Data of geotropic HC-BPPV patients treated at our department between January 2009 and January 2020 was retrospectively collected and analyzed. Enrolled cases were divided into Gufoni Group and Li Group. Follow-up results were recorded on the first, third, and seventh day after the first therapeutic maneuver.

RESULTS

A total of 254 cases were enrolled, with 87 cases in Gufoni Group, and 167 cases in Li Group. The cure rate at the first, third, and seventh days of follow-up was 62.22%, 77.01%, and 90.80% respectively for Gufoni Group, while for Li Group the number was 60.48%, 72.46%, and 89.22% respectively. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference.

CONCLUSIONS

Li Maneuver for geotropic HC-BPPV was as effective as Gufoni Maneuver but much simpler and faster. By introducing Li Maneuver, we may help physicians to treat geotropic HC-BPPV patients more willingly, which would decrease the chance of delayed treatment and ease the burden of the health-care system.

本研究旨在回顾性评估 Li 手法作为治疗地旋性水平半规管良性阵发性位置性眩晕(HC-BPPV)的复位方法的疗效,并与 Gufoni 手法进行比较。

方法

回顾性收集分析 2009 年 1 月至 2020 年 1 月我科治疗的地旋性 HC-BPPV 患者的资料。将纳入的病例分为 Gufoni 组和 Li 组。记录首次治疗后第 1、3、7 天的随访结果。

结果

共纳入 254 例患者,其中 Gufoni 组 87 例,Li 组 167 例。Gufoni 组首次、第 3、第 7 天的治愈率分别为 62.22%、77.01%和 90.80%,Li 组分别为 60.48%、72.46%和 89.22%。统计学分析无显著差异。

结论

Li 手法治疗地旋性 HC-BPPV 与 Gufoni 手法同样有效,但更简单、更快。引入 Li 手法可帮助医生更愿意治疗地旋性 HC-BPPV 患者,减少延迟治疗的机会,减轻医疗系统的负担。
