This current research is aimed at assessing clinical efficacy and prognosis of three-dimensional (3D) printing assisted patient-specific instrument (PSI) osteotomy guide in precise osteotomy of adult talipes equinovarus (ATE).
We included a total of 27 patients of ATE malformation (including 12 males and 15 females) from June 2014 to June 2018 in the current research. The patients were divided into the routine group ( = 12) and 3D printing group ( = 15) based on different operative methods. The parameters, including the operative time, intraoperative blood loss, complications, time to obtain bony fusion, functional outcomes based on American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and International Congenital Clubfoot Study group (ICFSG) scoring systems between the two groups were observed and recorded regularly.
The 3D printing group exhibits superiorities in shorter operative time, less intraoperative blood loss, higher rate of excellent, and good outcomes presented by ICFSG score at last follow-up ( < 0.001, < 0.001, = 0.019) than the routine group. However, there was no significant difference exhibited in the AOFAS score at the last follow-up and total rate of complications between the two groups ( = 0.136, = 0.291).
Operation assisted by 3D printing PSI osteotomy guide for correcting the ATE malformation is novel and feasible, which might be an effective method to polish up the precise osteotomy of ATE malformation and enhance the clinical efficacy.
本研究旨在评估三维(3D)打印辅助个体化手术器械(PSI)截骨导板在成人马蹄内翻足(ATE)精准截骨中的临床疗效和预后。
本研究纳入 2014 年 6 月至 2018 年 6 月共 27 例 ATE 畸形患者(男 12 例,女 15 例),根据手术方法的不同分为常规组(n=12)和 3D 打印组(n=15)。定期观察并记录两组患者的手术时间、术中出血量、并发症、获得骨性融合的时间、基于美国矫形足踝协会(AOFAS)和国际先天性马蹄内翻足研究组(ICFSG)评分系统的功能结果。
3D 打印组在手术时间、术中出血量、ICFSG 评分末次随访时的优良率方面均优于常规组(<0.001,<0.001,=0.019),但末次随访 AOFAS 评分和总并发症发生率差异无统计学意义(=0.136,=0.291)。
3D 打印 PSI 截骨导板辅助治疗 ATE 畸形是一种新颖且可行的方法,可能是提高 ATE 畸形精准截骨和提高临床疗效的有效方法。
