Abstract

The enzyme tyrosine-aminotransferase is induced in the liver of adrenalectomised rats by cortisone acetate with doses higher than 5 mg/kg. This induction is increased by the application of cyclophosphamide. In the case of 4-hydroperoxy-cyclophosphamide (active principle of Endoxan) the induction is considerably higher, whereas the immunosuppressive substance sufosamide (Asta 5122) is less effective. With the compound Asta 4968 which lacks carcinostatic and immunosuppressive effects no stimulation can be observed.
