Patient education is a key factor in promoting the health of people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and the effective use of technology can play an important role in this regard. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of education using media messages on the lifestyle of patients with ACS.
The present clinical trial was conducted on 91 cases with ACS admitted to the cardiac ward of Afshar Hospital in Yazd, Iran, during 2018-2019, who were randomly assigned to control and intervention groups. The former only was provided with routine training before discharge, while the latter, in addition to routine training before discharge, received education on social networking and sending text/visual messages. At baseline and 3 months after the intervention, the Walker's Lifestyle Questionnaire was completed. The independent -test, paired -test, and Chi-square test were employed for data analysis.
The average lifestyle value of the intervention group was significantly higher compared with the control group after the intervention ( < 0.001). Moreover, the lifestyle score was significantly different pre- and post-intervention in the intervention group ( < 0.001).
Education using media messages is useful to promote the lifestyle in cases with ACS, which seems effective in planning the follow-up for these patients.
患者教育是促进急性冠状动脉综合征(ACS)患者健康的关键因素,有效利用技术在这方面可发挥重要作用。本研究旨在确定利用媒体信息进行教育对ACS患者生活方式的有效性。
本临床试验于2018 - 2019年在伊朗亚兹德阿夫沙尔医院心脏科病房收治的91例ACS患者中进行,这些患者被随机分为对照组和干预组。对照组仅在出院前接受常规培训,而干预组除出院前的常规培训外,还接受社交网络及发送文本/视觉信息方面的教育。在基线期及干预后3个月,完成沃克生活方式问卷。采用独立样本t检验、配对t检验和卡方检验进行数据分析。
干预后,干预组的平均生活方式得分显著高于对照组(<0.001)。此外,干预组干预前后的生活方式得分有显著差异(<0.001)。
利用媒体信息进行教育有助于促进ACS患者的生活方式,这在为这些患者规划随访方面似乎是有效的。
