Abstract

A facile one-step synthesis of functionalized valerolactones was carried out by the conjugate addition of thiols to the α,β-unsaturated valerolactone 5,6-dihydro-2-pyran-2-one. The resultant 3-mercaptovalerolactones undergo ring-opening polymerization in solution or in the melt to generate polyesters functionalized either with benzyl mercaptans or oligoethylene glycol pendant groups. The copolymerization of the 3-mercaptovalerolactones with ε-caprolactone generates random copolymers.

通过硫醇与α,β-不饱和戊内酯5,6-二氢-2H-吡喃-2-酮的共轭加成反应,简便地一步合成了功能化戊内酯。所得的3-巯基戊内酯在溶液或熔体中进行开环聚合,生成用苄基硫醇或低聚乙二醇侧基功能化的聚酯。3-巯基戊内酯与ε-己内酯的共聚反应生成无规共聚物。
