The present study aimed to assess human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing differences between smokers with Reinke's edema and those with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
The HLA class I, II alleles were examined in 76 unrelated Iranian patients using low-resolution polymerase chain reaction with the sequence-specific primer (PCR-SSP) method.
The frequency of the HLA-A36 allele and HLA-B35 was significantly higher in patients with SCC. The frequency of HLA-DRB101 alleles in Reinke's edema was significantly higher, as compared to that in others. In the volunteer group, HLA-DRB113 and HLA-DRB1*15 were significantly higher.
As evidenced by the obtained results, HLA-A36 was significantly higher in SCC, as compared to that in volunteers and Reinke's edema patients. It can be concluded that being positive for HLA-A36 increases the chance of SCC by three times. This result should be further investigated in cohort studies conducted on larger samples. Furthermore, HLA-A24 was significantly higher in the volunteer group, as compared to that in other groups. The HLADRB101 was remarkably higher in Reinke's edema, as compared to that in SCC.
本研究旨在评估患有莱尼克水肿的吸烟者与喉鳞状细胞癌(SCC)患者之间人类白细胞抗原(HLA)分型的差异。
采用低分辨率聚合酶链反应-序列特异性引物(PCR-SSP)方法,对76名无亲缘关系的伊朗患者的HLA I类、II类等位基因进行检测。
SCC患者中HLA-A36等位基因和HLA-B35的频率显著更高。与其他患者相比,莱尼克水肿患者中HLA-DRB101等位基因的频率显著更高。在志愿者组中,HLA-DRB113和HLA-DRB1*15显著更高。
研究结果表明,与志愿者和莱尼克水肿患者相比,SCC患者中HLA-A36显著更高。可以得出结论,HLA-A36呈阳性会使患SCC的几率增加三倍。这一结果应在更大样本的队列研究中进一步调查。此外,与其他组相比,志愿者组中HLA-A24显著更高。与SCC患者相比,莱尼克水肿患者中HLADRB101显著更高。
