To investigate the distribution pattern of strabismus surgery at an eye center in southern China.
The data of all patients who underwent strabismus surgery at the Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University /Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2014 to 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The type of strabismus and its relationship with age and sex were analyzed, and the trend in the number of strabismus surgeries was observed.
The data of 4640 patients included a total of 5,282 surgeries. Exotropia surgery was the most common, accounting for 54.0% of all strabismus surgeries, which tended to increase over time, but not significantly (P = 0.109). Constant exotropia was the most common exotropia, but its proportion decreased year by year. The next most common was intermittent exotropia. The percentage of surgeries for intermittent exotropia increased from 2016 to 2020. Surgery for esotropia accounted for 22.1% of all strabismus surgeries and became significantly less common from 2016 to 2020 (P < 0.01). Among patients with intermittent or constant exotropia, the proportion of patients younger than 12 years who underwent surgical intervention increased yearly, while this proportion amoung patients older 12 years old with constant exotropia decreased yearly.
Among exotropia surgeries, surgery for constant exotropia was the most common but decreased in prevalence annually. Children under 12 years old were the most affected population.

回顾性分析 2014 年至 2020 年期间在汕头大学/香港中文大学联合汕头国际眼科中心接受斜视手术的所有患者的数据。分析斜视的类型及其与年龄和性别的关系，并观察斜视手术数量的趋势。
共纳入 4640 例患者，共 5282 例手术。外斜视手术最常见，占所有斜视手术的 54.0%，且呈逐年增加趋势，但无统计学意义（P = 0.109）。恒定性外斜视是最常见的外斜视，但比例逐年下降。其次是间歇性外斜视。间歇性外斜视的手术比例从 2016 年到 2020 年增加。内斜视手术占所有斜视手术的 22.1%，且从 2016 年到 2020 年显著减少（P < 0.01）。在间歇性或恒定性外斜视患者中，每年接受手术干预的 12 岁以下患者比例逐年增加，而每年 12 岁以上恒定性外斜视患者的比例则逐年下降。
在斜视手术中，恒定性外斜视手术最为常见，但发病率逐年下降。12 岁以下儿童是受影响最严重的人群。
