BACKGROUND
Cervical lymphangioma usually occurs in children and is relatively rare in adults. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of cervical lymphangiomas in adults.
METHODS
We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and analyzed clinical data obtained from seven adult patients who suffered from cervical lymphangioma from January 2008 to June 2021.
RESULTS
Five (71.43%) of seven cases were asymptomatic and four (57.14%) lymphangiomas had a maximum diameter ≥ 10 cm. Each cervical lymphangioma was located adjacent to the carotid sheath. All the cervical lymphangiomas were completely surgically excised and were pathologically diagnosed as cystic lymphangioma. After a median 32 months follow-up period, no recurrence was observed.
CONCLUSION
Cervical lymphangiomas from adults are often large asymptomatic masses infiltrating or adjacent to surrounding vital structures which brings many difficulties to the surgery, requiring an experienced surgeon to remove the mass.
背景
颈部淋巴管瘤通常发生于儿童，在成人中相对少见。本研究旨在探讨成人颈部淋巴管瘤的特征。
方法
我们回顾性分析了2008年1月至2021年6月期间7例患有颈部淋巴管瘤的成年患者的病历，并分析了所获得的临床资料。
结果
7例中有5例（71.43%）无症状，4例（57.14%）淋巴管瘤最大直径≥10 cm。每个颈部淋巴管瘤均位于颈动脉鞘附近。所有颈部淋巴管瘤均经手术完全切除，病理诊断为囊性淋巴管瘤。中位随访32个月后，未观察到复发。
结论
成人颈部淋巴管瘤常为无症状的大肿块，浸润或毗邻周围重要结构，给手术带来诸多困难，需要经验丰富的外科医生切除肿块。
