Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship of employee growth mindset with innovative behavior and the mediating role of use of strength as well as the moderating role of strengths-based leadership in this relationship. Data with a sample of 244 employees working in diverse Chinese organizations were collected at two points in time. Results of bootstrapping analyses demonstrated that growth mindset is positively related to innovative behavior, employee strengths use partially mediates the positive relationship of growth mindset with innovative behavior, and strengths-based leadership strengthens the direct relationship between employee growth mindset and innovative behavior and the indirect relationship of employee growth mindset with innovative behavior strengths use. This study advances growth mindset and innovative behavior theories and research.

本研究旨在探讨员工成长型思维与创新行为之间的关系,以及优势利用的中介作用和优势导向型领导在这种关系中的调节作用。研究选取了来自不同中国组织的244名员工作为样本,在两个时间点收集了数据。自抽样分析结果表明,成长型思维与创新行为呈正相关,员工优势利用部分中介了成长型思维与创新行为之间的正相关关系,优势导向型领导强化了员工成长型思维与创新行为之间的直接关系以及员工成长型思维与创新行为通过优势利用形成的间接关系。本研究推进了成长型思维和创新行为理论及研究。
