We describe the case of a 57-year-old man with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus who presented with 30 days of left-sided abdominal pain. He was found to have a left adrenal abscess and underwent adrenalectomy. Intraoperative cultures grew which is an uncommonly identified species rarely affecting immunocompetent patients. We review the published literature on cases of among immunocompetent patients. This is the first report summarizing the diagnosis and management of isolated from an adrenal abscess.
