Abstract
Neurotuberculosis is a potentially fatal disease that can present with upper or lower motor neuron symptoms. Longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) is characterized by contiguous inflammatory lesions of the spinal cord extending to three or more vertebral segments. The causes of LETM include infections, neoplasm, and autoimmune diseases. is a rare cause of transverse myelitis. Here, we report a 21-year-old Afghan female who was referred with chronic progressive quadriparesis and showed LETM on cervical MRI. This report indicates that tuberculosis should be considered as a differential diagnosis of LETM, especially in endemic areas.

神经结核是一种潜在致命的疾病，可表现为上运动神经元或下运动神经元症状。长节段横贯性脊髓炎（LETM）的特征是连续的脊髓炎症性病变，延伸至三个或更多的脊椎节段。LETM 的病因包括感染、肿瘤和自身免疫性疾病。神经结核是 LETM 的罕见病因。本报告介绍了一名 21 岁的阿富汗女性，因慢性进行性四肢瘫痪就诊，颈椎 MRI 显示 LETM。本报告表明，结核应作为 LETM 的鉴别诊断，尤其是在流行地区。
