is widely known to be a common cause of gram-negative bacterial meningitis in neonates and infants but is a rare cause of central nervous system infection in adults. Risk factors for meningitis (e.g., penetrating head trauma or neurosurgery) have been broadly discussed in the literature. Here, we describe a case of spontaneous meningitis with multiple enhancing brain lesions and liver abscess in an immunocompetent adult that presented as generalized weakness.
