In the title compound, CHO, the central pyran ring is in an envelope conformation and the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and naphthalene ring system is 88.31 (1)°. The meth-oxy groups at the and positions of the benzene ring are tilted to the ring with C-C-O-C torsion angles of 105.9 (4) and 9.5 (5)°, respectively. In the crystal, pairwise C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form (14) inversion dimers, which are linked by another pair of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to form [210] chains in the crystal.
