Abstract
The primary aim of the current study was to evaluate discomfort levels of facial NMES in healthy volunteers. Eight participants completed the Discomfort Level Scale (DLS) following each motor level facial neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) session. Each participant completed 12 sessions of facial NMES for a total of 96 NMES treatments. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient demonstrated a significant correlation between the facial NMES intensity level and DLS ( < 0.001). This study demonstrated that the DLS is a useful tool to check for discomfort levels in patients who receive facial NMES. Further, this study provides strong support for the tolerability of facial NMES.

本研究的主要目的是评估健康志愿者面部神经肌肉电刺激（NMES）的不适程度。八名参与者在每次运动水平面部神经肌肉电刺激（NMES）疗程后完成不适程度量表（DLS）。每位参与者完成了12次面部NMES疗程，总共进行了96次NMES治疗。皮尔逊积差相关系数表明面部NMES强度水平与DLS之间存在显著相关性（<0.001）。本研究表明，DLS是检查接受面部NMES患者不适程度的有用工具。此外，本研究为面部NMES的耐受性提供了有力支持。
