Abstract

Malaria remains a public health threat. Recently in Science Translational Medicine, Ty et al. and Odera et al. independently report that CD56 natural killer cells and antibody-dependent NK cells exhibit greater functionality during Plasmodium infection. With their high potency, NK cells provide a breakthrough in malaria control.
