Over a 13 year period the authors managed 50 patients with villous adenomas. There were 29 men and 21 women with ages ranging from 30 to 79 years. The treatment for benign villous adenomas was the transanal extirpation of the tumour. In cases of malignant adenomas the treatment was similar the carcinoma of colon and rectum. Mean survival time after radical resection in malignant villous adenomas was five years.
