[Vocal rehabilitation of laryngectomized patients using the Staffieri method. Analysis and late results].

Voice rehabilitation in the laryngectomy patient has been a major goal of reconstructive laryngeal surgery. 36 patients underwent laryngectomy and creation of a phonatory neoglottis as outlined by Staffieri. 3 years after operation speech and swallowing function were evaluated. Good voice rehabilitation was achieved in 13 out of our 36 patients. This group consists of patients with a good voice who have little or no aspiration or other problems.
