Conjugate pendular nystagmus evoked by accommodative vergence in a healthy 18-year-old girl is described. This is clinically demonstrated to be induced by accommodative convergence, and not related to fusional convergence. The lack of neurological or ophthalmic abnormalities supports the classification of a 'congenital' type of this rare phenomenon. A differential diagnosis is also discussed.
