A patient who sustained a penetrating injury to the right upper lid and eyeball presented a year later with a large cystic swelling in the orbit, which had caused proptosis and displacement of the globe. A symblepharon was found to have walled off the upper fornix causing lacrimal secretions to accumulate, thus forming a cystic lesions or lacricele.
