Injuries from pneumatic nailguns have increased over the past ten years. From a review of clinical records and a cadaver study it was determined that no permanent clinical disability may ensue. Based on long-term results, it was found that treatment should be simple removal of the nail, after radiographs have ruled out retained metal fragments. Arthroscopy may play a role in treatment of complications.
