Chemotherapy of melanoma.

The search for more effective drugs and treatment modalities is being effectively tested by the cooperative oncology groups. The mechanism employed is that of prospective controlled randomized clinical trials. This approach has proved to be a rapid and efficient means of comparing treatments in comparable patients. These clinical trials are the testing grounds for the new discoveries that are expected to improve the treatment of melanoma and other cancers.
