While was traditionally regarded as non-pathogenic, we now present a case of bacteraemia and meningitis in a 5-week-old child, successfully treated with cefotaxime. This case, in contrast to prior reports with potential contamination issues, is the first to offer compelling evidence of s pathogenicity in humans.
