Abstract

Hornet is a general term for insects of the genus (Hymenoptera: Vespidae). Hornets are predatory insects distributed worldwide. They often appear at apiaries in groups to prey on honey bees, and cause incalculable losses in the honey bee industry. In the face of hornet intrusion, tracking a homing hornet to find its nest is the most efficient way to discover and eliminate the hornets around an apiary. Here, five hornet-tracking methods (hornet tag tracking, triangulation, thermal imaging technology, harmonic radar, and radio telemetry) are reviewed. The advantages, disadvantages and feasibility of each method are discussed to improve the strategies for tracking hornets. Therefore, this review provides ideas for the development of hornet-tracking technology and for improving honey bee protection.

黄蜂是胡蜂属(膜翅目:胡蜂科)昆虫的统称。黄蜂是肉食性昆虫,分布于世界各地。它们常成群出现在养蜂场捕食蜜蜂,给养蜂业造成不可估量的损失。面对黄蜂入侵,追踪归巢黄蜂以找到其巢穴是发现并消灭养蜂场周围黄蜂的最有效方法。在此,对五种黄蜂追踪方法(黄蜂标记追踪、三角测量法、热成像技术、谐波雷达和无线电遥测)进行综述。讨论了每种方法的优缺点及可行性,以改进黄蜂追踪策略。因此,本综述为黄蜂追踪技术的发展及改善蜜蜂保护提供了思路。
