[Testicular trauma and its significance for male fertility].

The clinical evaluation of 8 patients after surgical treatment of unilateral testicular trauma showed a decreased testicular volume in 3 patients. The serum endocrine profiles were within normal range--except 1 patient with atrophy of one testicle. In all ejaculates investigated (n = 6) a moderate to high asthenozoospermia was shown. The density was normal in 5 of 6 patients, but 4 patients had a teratozoospermia. The possible causes of pathological spermiogram after rupture of the testis is discussed.
