Abstract

• Higher cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) reduces all-cause and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality risks. • CRF measured from cardiopulmonary exercise testing and estimated from maximal treadmill duration, submaximal exercise tests, and non-exercise algorithms show similar associations between CRF and all-cause and CVD mortality. • Protective associations between higher CRF and all-cause and CVD mortality were consistent when stratified by measurement year, global region, age, gender, follow-up duration, number of mortality events, and exercise test modality. • Populations with low CRF are encouraged to engage in moderate-intensity physical activity to reduce their risks for all-cause and CVD mortality.

• 较高的心肺适能(CRF)可降低全因死亡率和心血管疾病(CVD)死亡风险。

• 通过心肺运动测试测得的CRF以及根据最大跑步机运动时长、次最大运动测试和非运动算法估算出的CRF,在CRF与全因死亡率和CVD死亡率之间显示出相似的关联。
