It has been shown in experiments on rats of different age that antiarrhythmic activity of quinidine during aconitine and calcium chloride arrhythmias is mediated not only via the cardial mechanisms but also via the central nervous system, with the importance of these mechanisms in postnatal ontogenesis being inconclusive.
