Abstract

BACKGROUND

Since December 2019, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 () started in China, and quickly spread worldwide. To date, SARS-CoV-2 infection has become a global concern and health problem.

METHOD

In this study, we evaluated the co-infection of and Influenza viruses in confirmed COVID-19 patients in Abadan, Iran. They referred to the centers for COVID-19 detection at Abadan University of Medical Sciences in Southwest Iran. Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal throat swabs were collected from each person and tested for Influenza A using a multiplex Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction.

RESULTS

In this study, among 40 -positive cases, 2 patients (5%) were co-infected with influenza A virus.

CONCLUSION

The low frequency of influenza in our study could be due to the small sample size, which is one of the main limitations of our study Also, other respiratory tract infections were not investigated in this study.

背景

自2019年12月以来,由严重急性呼吸综合征冠状病毒2(SARS-CoV-2)引起的2019冠状病毒病(COVID-19)在中国开始出现,并迅速在全球传播。迄今为止,SARS-CoV-2感染已成为全球关注的问题和健康挑战。

方法

在本研究中,我们评估了伊朗阿巴丹确诊的COVID-19患者中SARS-CoV-2与流感病毒的合并感染情况。这些患者被转诊至伊朗西南部阿巴丹医科大学的COVID-19检测中心。从每个人身上采集鼻咽和口咽拭子,并使用多重实时聚合酶链反应检测甲型流感。

结果

在本研究中,40例SARS-CoV-2阳性病例中,有2例患者(5%)合并感染甲型流感病毒。

结论

我们研究中流感的低发生率可能是由于样本量小,这是我们研究的主要局限性之一。此外,本研究未调查其他呼吸道感染情况。
