Abstract

Reactions of the amidinato-silylene chloride PhC( BuN)SiCl () with imidazole-based dithione dimer , lithium dithiolene radical , and dithiolate dimer result in the synthesis of a series of silicon complexes -, respectively, containing both amidinato and dithiolene ligands. is the first structurally characterized silicon(II) dithiolene complex. The structural and bonding characteristics of - have been probed by both experimental and theoretical methods.
