Hydatid cyst is a common disease, especially in The Mediterranean, The Middle and Far East and South America. Liver and Lungs are the most common location and account for 90 % of cases. Other presentations are rare.
We present an 18-year-old man who suffered urgency, frequency and micturition pain for a while then developed acute urinary retention.
Hydatid cysts in the urogenital system are rare, making them an important yet often overlooked differential diagnosis. Symptoms are related to the size of the cyst and the pressure applied on adjacent organs such as the bladder and rectum. Surgery remains the primary choice and medical treatment may be applied when rupture occur.
Although rare, physicians should always keep it in mind in differential diagnosis especially in endemic areas.
包虫囊肿是一种常见疾病，尤其在地中海地区、中东、远东和南美洲。肝脏和肺是最常见的发病部位，占病例的90%。其他表现较为罕见。
我们报告一名18岁男性，他曾有一段时间出现尿急、尿频和排尿疼痛，随后发展为急性尿潴留。
