Advances in genomic technologies and DNA sequencing are revolutionizing health care. As the largest group of health care professionals, nurses play a key role in supporting genomics-informed care and precision health care. This article examines the knowledge and competencies necessary for quality integration of genomics into nursing practice. It also explores available educational resources to enhance genomic literacy and features a case study describing genomics-informed nursing across the nursing process.
