Abstract

Herein we present a double-color lateral flow immunoassay (D-MANP-LFIA) test strip for the rapid and simultaneous quantitative detection of fumonisin B1 (FB1) and T-2 toxin (T-2). The D-MANP-LFIA employs two differently colored core-shell structured magnetic aggregation-induced emission bifunctional nanoparticles (MANPs) as signal amplification tags. Leveraging their high fluorescence intensity and well-retained magnetic properties, the D-MANP-LFIA enables accurate and concurrent quantification of FB1 and T-2 through a chicken IgY antibody-mediated, independent C-line-assisted ratiometric signal output strategy. The detection limits for FB1 and T-2 were as low as 0.183 ng/mL and 0.017 ng/mL in PBS. Aditionally, the D-MANP-LFIA demonstrated good practicality, accurately quantifying FB1 and T-2 in feed and corn samples. Collectively, the D-MANP-LFIA provides a powerful tool for the rapid detection of multiple trace mycotoxins in complex matrices, making it highly valuable for food and feed safety monitoring.
