The case of a 32-year-old patient is reported who in her 35th week of pregnancy was successfully treated with acyclovir because of severe gingivostomatitis herpetica causing general health problems. The child was born 4 weeks later in good health. Acyclovir was thus used for the first time in a pregnant women.
