The monitoring of fetal EEG during labour can assist in identifying the effects on the fetus of anaesthetic and other drugs administered to the mother. Additionally it assists in detecting inadequate cerebral perfusion. One unsuccessful and one successful method are described of removing fetal EKG from the fetal EEG signal, so enabling the Cerebral Function Monitor to be used to monitor the fetal EEG. Examples of results are given.
