The crystal structures of the supra-molecular systems formed by pereth-oxy prism[6]arene () with 1,6-di-chloro-hexane (), CHO·2CHCl, and 1,6-di-iodo-hexane (), CHO·2CHI, are reported. encapsulates these linear dihaloalkanes, creating 1:1 host-guest systems ( and ). The structural details and host-guest inter-molecular inter-actions within the crystal networks are presented and discussed. In both crystal structures, the prism[6]arene macrocycle adopts a distorted cuboid shape, with the guest positioned perpendicular to its main axis.
