With the development of arthroscopic techniques, contemporary fixation modes, and materials, arthroscopic primary repair of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear has been proven an excellent minimally invasive treatment in carefully selected patients with proximal tears and excellent tissue quality. However, for the patients combined with partial proximal and intermediate ACL tears, the strength of the damaged ACL is significantly reduced compared to its intact state, a single suture repair at the ACL attachment may not provide sufficient mechanical strength. In this Technical Note, we present a surgical technique for arthroscopic primary suture tape repair and dynamic internal brace augmentation for partial proximal and intermediate ACL tears, which will better protect ligament healing during early range of motion.
