Abstract

Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic, progressive and potentially malignant disorder of the oral mucosa, primarily associated with betel quid and areca nut chewing. Therefore, it is of interest to compare the efficacy of intralesional Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) versus triamcinolone acetonide with hyaluronidase in the treatment of oral submucous fibrosis. This is a randomized clinical trial was conducted at the unit of oral medicine and radiology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, IMS, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. Patients diagnosed with grade II and III oral submucous fibrosis participated in this study. Results show that intralesional PRP was more effective than the combination of triamcinolone acetonide and hyaluronidase in the management of oral submucous fibrosis.

口腔黏膜下纤维化(OSMF)是一种口腔黏膜的慢性、进行性且具有潜在恶性的疾病,主要与嚼食槟榔和蒌叶有关。因此,比较病灶内注射富血小板血浆(PRP)与曲安奈德联合透明质酸酶治疗口腔黏膜下纤维化的疗效具有重要意义。这是一项在瓦拉纳西贝拿勒斯印度教大学(BHU)医学院牙科科学系口腔医学与放射科进行的随机临床试验。诊断为II级和III级口腔黏膜下纤维化的患者参与了本研究。结果表明,病灶内注射PRP在治疗口腔黏膜下纤维化方面比曲安奈德联合透明质酸酶更有效。
