Abstract

Osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a disease that occurs frequently in the young and middle-aged population. Because of its high disability rate, it affects the ability to work, so early treatment of this disease is particularly important. Microfragmented adipose tissue contains high levels of adipose-derived stem cells, which show osteoprotective and anti-inflammatory qualities. This Technical Note aims to introduce in detail the harvesting and lipogems processing of autologous microfragmented adipose tissue, combined with core decompression surgery in treating early-stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
