Pushout bond strength evaluation determines the efficiency of sealer which provides better adaptation, sealing ability, and complete fluid-tight hermetic seal, thereby preventing the entry of microorganisms and reinfection.
The study aimed to evaluate the pushout bond strength of the teeth obturated with bioceramic gutta-percha coated with AH Plus, CeraSeal, and BioRoot RCS sealer.
This was an study.
Sixty human mandibular premolar teeth with single roots were decoronated to provide 15 mm length. Instrumentation was done using the Micro Mega Hero Shaper Gold Rotary Files till F3. Canals were irrigated with 5.25% NaOCl, 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid solution, and saline and dried. Samples were divided into three groups: Group I ( = 20) obturated with bioceramic gutta-percha coated with AH Plus, Group II ( = 20) obturated with bioceramic gutta-percha coated with CeraSeal, Group III ( = 20) obturated with bioceramic gutta-percha coated with BioRoot RCS. Finally, the samples were coronally sealed with a temporary filling material and stored in 100% humidity at 37ºC for 14 days. Then, pushout bond strength evaluation of all samples was done using a Universal Testing Machine.
Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA, followed by Bonferroni analysis, for the multiple intergroup comparisons.
Analysis using ANOVA showed a statistically significant difference ( < 0.05) in coronal, middle, and apical third sections of all groups. Analysis done using Bonferroni showed a statistically significant difference ( < 0.05) in all sections when compared with Group III (BioRoot RCS).
BioRoot RCS sealer showed better pushout bond strength values when compared to CeraSeal sealer and AH Plus sealer.
