[Significance of the sequence of therapeutic procedures in the combined treatment of ovarian cancer patients (based on the criterion of the onset and duration or remission)].

A study on the importance of sequence of surgery and chemotherapy evaluated on the basis of the onset and duration of remission in 412 cases of malignant epithelial ovarian carcinoma (stage III-IV) demonstrated the advantages of a surgery plus chemotherapy modality. However, substantial advantage was offered by the reverse sequence of treatment in cases of combined hydrothorax and ascites as well as predominance of the mass of metastases over that of primary tumor.
