The synthesis of isonicotinoylamino acids-2-sulphonylamino acids and nicotinoylamino acids-5-sulphonylamino acids (III-VII) and (XXIII-XXVII) and their corresponding methyl esters, hydrazides and some dipeptide methyl ester derivatives (VII-XXII) and (XXVIII-XXXVII) are described. Thirty two of various substituted nicotinoyl and isonicotinoyl sulphonylamino acid derivatives were found to possess specific antimicrobial activities towards different microorganisms.
