BACKGROUND
Exercise therapies has been increasingly studied, but there is no consensus on their role in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with psychological distress.
METHODS
We searched for relevant studies published in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library, with a focus on randomized controlled trials that recorded the impact of exercise on psychological distress.
RESULTS
Twenty-one randomized controlled trials met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis indicated a significant improvement in anxiety (standardized mean difference [SMD]: -0.63, 95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.92 to -0.35; P < .001, I2 = 83.6%), depression (SMD: -0.44, 95% CI: -0.63 to -0.26; P < .001, I2 = 62.9%), emotion regulation (SMD: 0.32, 95% CI: 0.08-0.56; P = .010, I2 = 0.0%), and self-efficacy (SMD = 0.61, 95% CI: 0.08-1.04, P < .001; I2 = 74.8%) with exercise.
CONCLUSION
Our meta-analysis supports the alleviation of psychological distress in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients by exercise.
荟萃分析表明,运动在焦虑(标准化均数差[SMD]:-0.63,95%置信区间[CI]:-0.92至-0.35;P<0.001,I² = 83.6%)、抑郁(SMD:-0.44,95% CI:-0.63至-0.26;P<0.001,I² = 62.9%)、情绪调节(SMD:0.32,95% CI:0.08 - 0.56;P = 0.010,I² = 0.0%)和自我效能(SMD = 0.61,95% CI:0.08 - 1.04,P<0.001;I² = 74.8%)方面有显著改善。
结论
我们的荟萃分析支持运动可减轻慢性阻塞性肺疾病患者的心理困扰。
