With the persistence of difficult employment, a large number of college students feel anxious and nervous about job hunting. College students with different family economic status have various feelings and performances when faced with employment, possibly due to subjective social class differences. The present study investigated the employment confidence of 611 undergraduates in Chongqing, aimed to ascertain the overall employment confidence of Chinese college students, and tried to analyze how subjective social class works on the employment confidence of college students and its influencing mechanism. The results revealed that the overall employment confidence of college students was positive. There is no significant difference in employment confidence between males and females. The employment confidence of public-funded normal students is higher than that of other college students, and the employment confidence of freshmen is lower than that of juniors and sophomores. What's more, the subjective social class could directly affect employment confidence and also could affect employment confidence by the mediating effect of perceived social support and self-efficacy. Further, subjective social class works on employment confidence through the chained mediating effect of perceived social support and self-efficacy. It suggested that it is worth paying attention to enhancing the perceived social support and self-efficacy of undergraduates to foster their employment confidence because of a relatively stable subjective social class.
随着就业困难的持续存在,大量大学生对求职感到焦虑和紧张。不同家庭经济状况的大学生在面对就业时有着不同的感受和表现,这可能是由于主观社会阶层差异所致。本研究调查了重庆611名本科生的就业信心,旨在确定中国大学生的整体就业信心,并试图分析主观社会阶层如何影响大学生的就业信心及其影响机制。结果显示,大学生的整体就业信心呈积极状态。男女在就业信心上没有显著差异。公费师范生的就业信心高于其他大学生,大一学生的就业信心低于大二和大三学生。此外,主观社会阶层既能直接影响就业信心,也能通过感知社会支持和自我效能感的中介作用影响就业信心。进一步而言,主观社会阶层通过感知社会支持和自我效能感的链式中介作用影响就业信心。这表明,鉴于主观社会阶层相对稳定,提高本科生的感知社会支持和自我效能感以培养他们的就业信心是值得关注的。
