Abstract
Complement fixation inhibition studies with oligosaccharides of known molecular structure have shown that the group antigens are determined by identical structural sequences in the lipopolysaccharides of the different serotypes. The epitopes of group factors 4 and 3,4 are internal sequences of α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→4)-L-rhamnose and α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→4)-α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→6)--acetyl-D-glucosamine respectively.

对具有已知分子结构的寡糖进行的补体固定抑制研究表明，群抗原由不同血清型脂多糖中的相同结构序列决定。群因子4和3,4的表位分别是α-L-鼠李糖基-(1→4)-L-鼠李糖和α-L-鼠李糖基-(1→4)-α-L-鼠李糖基-(1→6)-N-乙酰-D-葡萄糖胺的内部序列。
